Imagine floating in a warm pool, reminiscent of your first medium in the womb. The water is heated to body temperature, so you can fully relax. All planes of movement are possible, and joints can be mobilized with ease. Experience bliss and merge back into the ocean of existence.
We work with principles of osteopathy and may include a gentle series of movements from other aquatic bodywork approaches such as DolphinDance , Aguahara, or Massage AquaVie. This is a highly relaxing experience of merging and surrendering to the water. This is an invitation to a deep inner experience where unresolved traumas, pains and emotional holding can be naturally released. It is optional that you experience some of the work under the water in a safe and relaxed way. I have found that deepening a state of breath suspension in apnea brings a state of relaxation which is unparalled!
Sessions will also include time to address specific issues with osteopathic principles. Evaluation and treatment of orthopedic and visceral restrictions are highly effective due to the response and freedom of the fluid body in the water environment. The water invites awareness of the relationship of the whole body at once. For example, the effect of moving your shoulder can be felt as a continuum into the lower back, hips and legs in a way which is more free than on land.
Some floatational cuffs and props may be used for your comfort. If you have a fear of water and would like to overcome it, we can address that in these sessions. This is also an exceptional pre-natal experience to connect with your baby and remember your time in the womb. The sessions can be done with your head above water for the whole session, or we may work underwater as well depending on your comfort and breathing. The fee is $150. If you would like to experience a session, you can book directly online here or E-mail for more information.
The sessions are held at several locations: 762 av Lavallée, Laval or in the summer months, 6614 chemin Parkview in Cote St. Luc. The map is on the contact link of my website. I can also come to your own private pool in your home, building or hotel for the session as well if the pool can be heated between 85 and 95 degrees. (95 is ideal for the work, but if it's closer to 85 degrees, it's possible with a more dynamic approach).
Courses or retreats in aquatic bodywork are also another way to experience this work.
